Equity Officer Peer Group
Across the country, people in state, Tribal, local, and territorial governments are working to promote and advance equity. The Network is committed to identifying legal and policy levers to further this work for better health outcomes as well as to create space for collaboration and learning. The Equity Officer Peer Group (EOPG) was created to support those doing equity work, even if equity is only a small focus of their work. EOPG aims to harness collective power and boost equity work through resource sharing, learning sessions, and by providing opportunities to connect.

FAQ
I work in state, Tribal, local, or territorial government to promote equity, but I do not specifically focus on public health or health equity. Is EOPG right for me?
Yes! EOPG is for those in state, Tribal, local, and territorial governments doing equity work, regardless of whether they work for a health department or otherwise focus on public health and health equity. At the Network, we understand that all equity work has the potential to improve health outcomes. EOPG provides a space for members to explore how their equity work is connected to public health, to strengthen cross-sector relationships, and to support work promoting healthy, thriving communities for all.
Can I join EOPG even though I am not a lawyer?
Yes, EOPG welcomes lawyers and non-lawyers! Laws and policies can be powerful drivers of equity (and inequity), shaping the social and structural conditions that impact health. EOPG aims to support members in understanding legal and policy issues related to equity and in leveraging legal and policy levers to address health disparities and interconnected harms.
