The Network Appoints Quang (“Q”) Dang as Managing Director, Legal Programs & Strategy

The Network for Public Health Law is thrilled to announce the appointment of Quang (“Q”) Dang as Managing Director, Legal Programs and Strategy. As part of the Network’s leadership team, Dang will oversee and coordinate the work of project and regional teams in advancing law and policy solutions through provision of direct legal technical assistance and capacity building to stakeholders working to create healthier, more equitable communities. He will also build and strengthen key partnerships and identify opportunities and gaps to bolster the Network’s collaborative efforts and initiatives.

“Our vision is of a world where laws, policies, funding, and infrastructure promote public health through evidence, equity, and community engagement.,” said Dr. Vineeta Gupta, the Network’s Executive Director. “Achieving this vision requires innovative strategies and closing the opportunity gaps in public health law. Q will be an integral part of the team, helping to expand the Network’s mission, impact, and diversification efforts.”

Quang has a proven track record in managing strategic partnerships across public health sectors. He previously served as Vice President of Programs at a national organization providing law and policy technical assistance to support building healthier communities. Most recently, Quang worked as a lecturer in public health for the California State University system where he taught undergraduate and graduate courses on health law, health policy, healthcare legislation, government programs, ethics, regulation, state and local health systems, medical-legal partnerships, and LGBTQ+ health.

“I am excited to join the Network at a pivotal moment for public health,” Dang said. “The Network is building on its commitment to respond to growing public health needs with equity at the forefront of priorities, and I look forward to continuing this work.”

Dang holds a J.D. from the University of California’s Berkeley School of Law and a B.A. with honors in Public Policy from Brown University.
