Taking on Tobacco Regulation: An Overview of New York City’s Tobacco Control Laws

This webinar explores how New York City law has been used to dramatically reduce tobacco use, the leading cause of preventable, premature death in both New York City and the United States. Presenters will discuss the city’s ground-breaking Smoke-Free Air Act, along with more recent measures including prohibiting discounts for tobacco products, setting a minimum price for cigarettes, raising the age for purchase of tobacco products, and addressing electronic cigarettes.
