Report: Review of North Carolina Hospitals' Community Health Needs Assessments and Implementation Strategies

posted on Mon, Oct 6 2014 12:06 pm by Network for Public Health Law - Southeastern Region

All hospitals with a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status are required, under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), to conduct Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNA) and and Implementation Strategies (IS) every three years.

This report reviews the first cycle of CHNA and IS completed by North Carolina nonprofit hospitals. It was conducted at the request of the NC Community Health Improvement Collaborative, which is in the process of identifying best practices and lessons-learned from this first round of CHNA activities as part of a continuous quality improvement process.
