Funding Alternatives for Accreditation Programs

posted on Tue, Feb 1 2011 10:39 pm by Southeastern Region

The Network has received several requests from local, state and tribal public health officials navigating the process of their health agency receiving national accreditation. One such request came from a state official preparing for a legislative update on a major piece of public health legislation. The official specifically requested information on funding alternatives for accreditation programs. The Network responded to the requester with an article published in the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice entitled “Looking Back from the Future: Connecting Accreditation, Health Reform, and Political Opportunities” by Network attorney Gene Matthews (co-authored with Dr. Edward Baker of the University of North Carolina).
