Northern Region

The Network is organized into regions. Each region is dedicated to providing an area of the United States with public health law technical assistance and support on a wide range of topics. The Network for Public Health Law – Northern Region serves individuals and organizations within:

  • Iowa
  • Minnesota
  • Montana
  • North Dakota
  • South Dakota
  • Wisconsin
  • Wyoming

Northern Region State Resources

  • The Network created the State Rulemaking and Comments Fact Sheet for information on the regulations component of the public health legal framework and  information about the rulemaking process, specifically regarding Kentucky provisions. Minnesota has a rulemaking resource compiled by attorneys at the Minnesota Department of Health: The Minnesota Rulemaking Manual is a practical 300 plus-page user guide to rulemaking in Minnesota.

About the the Northern Region

The Northern Region is based in Edina, MN and leads the legal technical assistance and research efforts for the Network for Public Health Law on:

  • Tobacco Control (in partnership with the Tobacco Control Legal Consortium)
  • Mental Health and Well-Being
  • Rural Health Equity

Though the Northern Region takes the lead on these topics, please contact your region for legal technical assistance and support on any of the public health law topics. Your region will connect you with the appropriate expert based on your request.
